Ocean World in Heilongjiang Provincial Museum has three zones: a tropical zone, a seabed tunnel and an ocean coral reef. It has over 200 varieties of rare ocean animals including 6,000 fish and plants from all over the world. Rare Chinese Sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) from the Yangtze River, Paddlefish (Polyodon spathula) from the American Mississippi, sharks and a sea turtle which has been aged at over 300 years.
A huge acrylic glass tunnel has been built to allow you to walk underneath fierce lemon sharks, docile Nurse Shark, flexible black-tip reef sharks, sea turtles, tiger spot fish, tiger eels and white-tip reef sharks.
Ocean World also has the only Pacific Ocean coral reef cluster in Heilongjiang Province providing an underwater world of sunflower coral, bubble coral, starfish and sea hedgehogs.
