The Heilongjiang Museum of Ethnic Groups is contained within the Harbin Temple of Confucius, and has the aim of researching and publishing the history, culture and features of the northernmost minorities in China. Harbin Temple of Confucius is the largest Temple of Confucius in Northeast China built in 1926 to a typical Qing construction style of a south-north three entrance courtyard
After opening, more than 400,000 people have visited the museum since it opened. There are several exhibitions including an exhibition of cultural relics from Heilongjiang Minorities, and a Confucius exhibition.
