Description

Located 5 km west of West Lake, Xixi National Wetland Park, the first and so far only national wetland park in China, is located at the southernmost point of the longest and oldest canal in the world, the Hangzhou-Beijing Canal, or Grand Canal.

of 346 hectares (855 acres) and aims to preserve and restore the ancient urban wetlands which for centuries have been part of the ecology of the area. It combines this scientific mission with a commitment to preserving and enhancing the cultural attractions of the area, including fascinating waterside temples and pavilions.
