Hangzhou Historical Museum is located at the foot of Wu peak, about 1km from West Lake. It presents a chronological display of the history of Hangzhou, from the Neolithic Hemudu and Liangzhi cultures to the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Particular prominence is given to the Wuyue Kingdom (907-978 AD) and theSouthern Song dynasty .
