Hot Spring Park has been landscaped and planted in a typically western style with large lawns, and fountains. The bamboo and banyan trees do provide a hint of the Chinese, but many of the structures in the park such as the West Gate and the North Gate are built in a Classical Greek architectural style.
There are ten areas devoted to different plant types, such as the Camellia Garden and the Sweet-scented Osmanthus Garden. In the centre of the park sits a large glass pyramid, but the thousands of white pigeons which have been brought in from Shanghai may provide the most memorable sight for visitors.
The park is home to a Tulip Show every year during the Spring Festival.
