Description

Located about 100 km north of Tianjin, this historic mountain is a favorite destination for residents of Beijing and Tianjin seeking to escape the city for a weekend. The landscape of the mountain is characterized by its craggy rocks, crystal clear streams, pine trees and vast greenery. In fact, with its 320 arboreal species and shrubs, the mountain is often regarded as a natural botanical garden. Mount Pan has four scenic spots with more than 30 sights, including the Five Peaks, the Three Spiral Positions and the Eight Stones. It also has 72 new and restored temples and schools that contain a wealth of cultural relics.

Bus: Take the bus from Hebei Station in Tianjin (6 am - 7:30 pm); buses depart at regular 15 minute intervals. Take a taxi upon arrival at Jixian County (RMB 5).

Train: Take train No. 7142 from Tianjin to Jixian County (7:36 am -10:29 am); and train No. 7141 back (2:54 pm - 5:34 pm).
