Xining Zoo is the only location accessible to visitors, which integrates a program of wild animal breeding with exhibitions and zoological education in Qinghai. Located to the south of People's Park, in the west of Xining and established in 1960, it houses many rare wild animals from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau such as the black-necked crane, grus grus, snow leopard, lynx, wild yak, white-lipped deer, musk-deer, zebra and the lesser panda.

Resepcted Sir/Madam,Padmaj naidu Himalayan Zoological Park has been working for the conservation breeding of endangered Himalayan species for the last 25 year and and the park is involved in the global captive breeding for Snow leopards(Uncia uncia).I Shradhanjali Rai is working as Research scholar in the park for the last one year on a project on Conservation breeding of Snow leopards in captivity.
I have read lots of articles regarding the husbandry and rearing of Snow leopard cubs and also papers related to diseases.So after going through your paper what i have found is that the Xining zoo and PNHZPark are facing much similar problems regarding the rearing of cubs among them the main problems are pneumonia ,osteoporosis and enteritis.Since your park is working so hard to save this endangered species can you please suggest me how we can overcome the above mentioned problems.
As you have mentioned to use UV rays to disinfect the holding areas can you please suggest me the schedule of disinfection.Is it good to irradiate the cubs with UV-rays,if yes then from how many days we can start the process?Please kindly write me back and help me to save these beautiful animals.
