Constructed in 1955, the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge was the first road and rail bridge to span this mighty river. On the bridge is a seven-story tower that provides a panoramic view of the Yangtze River and a distant view of Turtle Hill (Guishan) and Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghe Lou). The bridge is decorated with 143 panes that depict traditional Chinese folk arts and sceneries.
