Chloe is a French-themed wine bar and lounge opened in 2013, located on Po Yang Street in the heart of the former Hankou foreign concession. Chloe is the eponymous creation of Francophile wine distributor Chloe Wu, a Wuhan native, and is set in a Russian heritage building with a stylish designer interior that merges old with new and East with West. The core of the drinks list is wine from Bordeaux, but the bar also offers other reasonably priced wines, classic cocktails and a small French and Spanish snack menu. The upbeat but unobtrusive lounge music, eclectic designer furniture and French nationals behind the wine list (and sometimes the bar) make for a truly unique place to enjoy a few drinks in old Hankou. The bar runs weekly wine tastings.
Thank God, finally a decent wine bar in Wuhan. Close to Marco Polo, the best hotel in town -- cool place in the old quarter by the Yangtze. Check it out.
