Shijiazhuang has a comprehensive railway network, with 13 rail lines connecting to various parts of China through the city's two railway stations. The most common destinations include Beijing (2.5 hrs), Zhengzhou (4 hrs), Handan (2 hrs), Qinhuangdao (10 hrs), Tianjin (5 hrs), Taiyuan (4 hrs) and Luoyang (8 hrs), Nanjin (12 hrs) and Guangzhou (20 hrs). Although there are two stations, most travelers will arrive and depart from the centrally located Main Station (Shijiazhuang Huoche Zhan). The Main Station is located close to the bustling downtown area and can be reached by bus or taxi.
In April 2007, the city inaugurated a bullet train that travels to Beijing several times a day, making the trip under 2 hours. First-class tickets sell for RMB 103 while regular class tickets sell for RMB 86.
