Liaoning Provincial Museum presents the history and culture of the province through 18 halls of relics, pictures and paintings. The gems of the collection include an exhibition of Liao porcelain, which is made from a technique developed in the Tang Dynasty, as well as Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasty calligraphic art, embroidered silks and ancient maps. The Liao porcelain exhibition demonstrates the coloring and sculpting techniques that went into the crafting of these objects.
