Description

With a collection numbering 120,000 pieces, this museum specializes in ancient Chinese artworks ranging from painting and calligraphies, bronze works and porcelain. It has priceless artifacts including bronze wares from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, painted potteries from the Neolithic period, and glazed porcelain from the Tang Dynasty.

Its Gallery of Chinese Ancient Sculpture exhibits sculptures from various dynasties from the Warring States period through to the Ming Dynasty. It also features various Buddhas that reflect the different techniques used through the dynasties. There is also a fascinating Chinese Coin Hall that displays more than 7,000 specimens, and an exhibition of Ming and Qing dynasty furniture.

Perhaps the most impressive section of the museum is that that displays the creations of China's ethnic minority nationalities. There are literally thousands of fascinating articles that show the diversity of these ethnic groups and their cultures.
