Description

Best known for its steep cliffs and serene atmosphere, Mount Laoshan stands at an altitude of 1,133 meters above sea level. According to ancient legends, emperors sent convoys to Laoshan in search of the elixir of immortality. Many calligraphers have left inscriptions here, and Taoist monks made it the home of the 'Second Monastery of the Taoist Quanzhen Sect'. Mount Laoshan has nine palaces, eight temples and seventy-two convents. It also has an amazing array of rocks and caves, waterfalls and peaks. Its three major sites are Yangkou Scenic Area, Beijiushui Scenic Area and Hualou Yangkou Scenic Area.

Mount Laoshan: RMB70 (peak season), RMB 50 (off season); includes admission to Liuqing Scenic Area, Jufeng Scenic Area and Yangkou Scenic Area
Beijiushui Scenic Area: RMB50 (peak season), RMB 30 (off season)
Hualou Scenic Area: RMB 10 (all year)
Taiqing Ropeway: RMB50 (round trip), RMB 30 (one-way)
Yangkou Ropeway: RMB40 (round trip), RMB 20 (one-way)

Note: Travelers interested in going to Beijiushui and Yangkou Scenic Area can take a tourist bus from 7:00-10:00 am every morning from Huaneng Square.
