Considered the largest and oldest Taoist Temple on Laoshan, this impressive edifice comprises 140 rooms including the Three Gods' Hall, the Three Purities' Hall and the Three Emperors Hall. It was originally constructed in 140 AD, during the reign of the first Emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty. It was completely reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty. Facing the Three Purities' Hall is Shengshui Spring, the Spring of Supernatural Water. Local monks say the water has healing powers. Among its fascinating cultural relics is a tablet inscribed by Kublai Khan, the first Yuan Dynasty emperor.
