Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium (ZJITS) is sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) China National Ministry of Commerce and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. Originally, it was organized by Ningbo Municipal People's Government and Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Department of Zhejiang Province in hopes of attracting further investment into Ningbo and its surrounding areas. In accordance with the Central Government, the platform is to promote the further opening-up of Zhejiang Province at all levels of industry. The yearly symposium was inaugurated in 1999. Because of the opening up and the trade symposium, the province industry is growing substantially with 2,400 foreign-funded projects with a total investment of $36 billion USD, and a contractual foreign investment of $18.3 billion USD.
