Description

Only 5 kilometers south of the suburbs of Nanning, visitors can find the Qingxiu Mountain Range. The most famous features of Qingxiu Mountain are the clear waters of the manmade lakes.

On the west side of Yaochi is Sanbao Hall and Three Treasures Hall.

The Mountain is home to several planted gardens too, including Thailand Garden, which is a living symbol of the friendship between China and Thailand. Cycads Garden is another popular site on the mountain, where thousands of Cycads (also known as Iron Trees) have been planted. The trees bloom rarely and irregularly, last doing so in May 2002. Cable cars on the mountain enable visitors to see the landscape from an unusual angle.

Any visit to Qingxiu Mountain, should include the Ming Dynasty Pagoda, known as Longxiang Tower: it is widely regarded as a symbol of the mountain. The pagoda's glazed tiles and pretty construction are worth visiting themselves, but the view over Nanning from inside the pavilion is equally as interesting.

Getting There: Get on bus at Chaoyang Square (RMB 4) or by taxi at RMB 25
