Description

Built during the Ming Dynasty in 1634, the picturesque Tanhua Temple is home of the sandalwood fragrant orchid cacti, tanhua. The orchid is honored as the "Buddha's Flower" hence the name Tanhua Temple. This particular orchid blooms only at night, and visitors will learn the fascinating legend that explains this phenomenon. The temple underwent two restorations during the Qing Dynasty.
