The Yunnan Nationalities Village is located on the northeastern banks of the Dianchi Lake, about 8 km outside of Kunming. The village aims to introduce to visitors the diversity of Yunnan's population. There are currently about 12 model minority villages that display traditional village life, ceremonies and ethnic lifestyles. The most popular villages are those of the Dai, Bai and the Yi ethnic groups. The village is a wonderful place to visit all year round, but certain sections are livelier at certain times of the year… when the different ethnic groups hold their respective festivals. Other attractions include Water Sprinkling Square, a Dinosaur Theme Park, a Butterfly Museum, a Sun Dial and much more.
