The Round the City Park circles the old city of Jinan, running for nearly 5 kilometers. It connects the Baotu Spring, Pearl Spring, Heihu Spring, Five-dragon Pond and Daming Lake to form a large green band, lakes, hills and springs. There are also four Season Gardens: winter garden, spring garden, summer garden and autumn garden which run from the north to the south of the Round the City Park.
The winter garden is planted with pines, bamboos and plum blossom. The spring garden has large lawn area which has been surrounded with plants that bloom especially well during the spring months. The summer garden has pomegranate trees that provide visitors with shade. In the autumn garden, red-leaved maple trees & fully laden fruit trees provide a fragrant harvest.
At the east end of the south moat is a Quanshi (spring and stone) Garden centered on the Heihu Spring. Heihu Spring gushes with an unusual sound said to be like that of a howling tiger. More than 20 springs such as Jiunv Spring, Baishi Spring, Mayao Spring and Pipa Spring surround it.
