The temple was first established in 1579, but was rebuilt 60 years later, with much of today's structure dating from then. The temple houses a four-century old silver statue of Sakyamuni, which gives it the nickname 'Silver Buddha Temple' . Many ancient Buddhist scriptures and ancient artifacts are housed here, and the well-preserved Ming Dynastywooden hall is a sight to behold.
