Xishan (West Hill) Park is located 2 kilometers west of Guilin and covers about 2 square kilometers. The two main prominences in the park are Hidden Hill (Yinshan) and West Hill (Xishan). Xilinqing Temple, which was built in the Tang Dynasty, is of the five largest Buddhist temples in south China.
There are six interconnected caves in Hidden Hill, inside which there are a great number of stone sculptures and inscriptions. There are also features added by the park planners to create a haunted atmosphere for the amusement of younger visitors. These include exhibits of corpses and mechanical ghosts.
