Description

Solitary Beauty Peak is a high limestone outcrop located at the site of the ancient Mansion of Prince Jingjiang, in the center of Guilin City. Towering 66 meters (217 feet) above the ground, this peak has been a major scenic site in Guilin since ancient times and is known as the ''Sky-Supporting Pillar of the South.''

A long stone stairway leads to the summit, which offers fine views of Guilin and its surroundings, and is the site of the Solitary Beauty Pavilion. At the foot of the peak lie several rocks and grottoes of interest, including Dushu (Study) Rock, which resembles a stone room, and Taiping (Peace) Rock, which is like a gracious house with a very smooth floor and stalactites of various shapes hanging from the roof.
