Another excellent view of Guilin can be had from the summit of Fubo Shan, not far from Solitary Beauty Peak. Where the steep slope of the hill meets the waters of the Li River, the ripples flow back upstream, which is what gives the peak its name. One of the main points of interest is Returned Pearl Cave, which shelters an image of the Buddha more than 1000 years old, together with many others dating from the Tang and Song dynasties.
