Description

As this park boasts four palaces, a fifth century Buddhist temple and a number of pavilions sitting amid rustic scenery, visitors could be forgiven for overlooking the eponymous springs in this park altogether. This would be a shame though, as the Hot Springs are said to have the power to alleviate many conditions including stress and arthritis. The spring water is best enjoyed in the Olympic-size swimming pool which is constantly fed by the springs which maintain a temperature of 35C all year long.

During the city's infamously hot summer, sitting in the springs may feel more like torture than relaxation, and this is when the rest of the park comes into its own. A number of planted gardens have been created within the park's 10 hectare boundary, including Guxiang Garden and Stone Inscription Garden where a large numbers of steles are displayed and stored. There are also several cooler ponds such as Fish Pond and Water Lily Pond.

Groups of monks from the Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties have been interred in tombs in the park alongside a variety of towers and pagodas.

The natural landscape of the park takes in hills, gorges and caves all of which can be enjoyed by visitors at any time of year, though during the summer when the weather is unpredictable, non-slip footwear is advised.
