Xinhua Park covers 11 hectares and includes both shady foliage and a manmade amusement park. The park is the venue for Spring Festival galas and Chinese Traditional Temple Fairs, which includes activities like Chuan Opera performances, shadow plays and lantern riddles. In 2002, the first Sichuan Huoguo Culture Festival was held in the park.
