Description

Changchun is a major base for China's auto industry and the city's international automobile fair is one of the three major auto fairs sponsored by the CCPIT. The fair helps to expand markets, explore future cooperation, provides for information exchange and promotes ''green reform'' of the industry, while enhancing the development of China's auto industry and re-invigorating the Old Industrial Base of China's Northeast.

The fair has been held 5 times, with the Fifth China Changchun International Automobile Fair open from July 13 to July 22, 2007. The Fair attracted 100 auto companies from home and abroad displaying 132 brands of vehicles. International automakers including Volkswagen, Audi and General Motors, as well as major Chinese auto companies such as the China First Automobile Works (FAW) Group Corp. attended the 10-day event. Concept cars, trucks, buses, special purpose vehicles and vehicles for military use were on display at the fair, which occupied an exhibition area of 140,000 square meters.
