Located at the north end of Financial Street, the theatre preserves the memory of late Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, a national hero and first president of the National Peking Opera Company. The three story fan-shaped structure boasts 1,000 seats and five private boxes as well as state-of-the-art acoustic equipment. With photographs, paintings and other memorabilia representing Peking Opera past and present, this is a great place to become acquainted with Beijing’s operatic heritage. The theatre also hosts dramas and other shows.
