The Nanguan mosque was rebuilt in 1981, taking heavy influences from traditional Islamic architecture. The local Muslim community contributed the money for the project. An impressive building, it rises to 28m, and has a main hall large enough to house 1300 worshipers. There is a Muslim school in the complex as well. Open to both Muslim and non-Muslim tourists from home and abroad, Nanguan has become one of the premier attractions in Yinchuan.
