Huaqing Hot Spring is situated 30 kilometers east of Xi'an at the foot of Li Mountain. The Springs were a popular winter imperial resort approximately 3000 years ago and now are visited by many tourists after scaling Li Mountain.
This historical site was destroyed after the Tang Dynasty, but rebuilt to adhere to Tang Dynasty architecture. Known as the rendezvous spot for Emperor Xuanzong and his beloved concubine, Yang Guifei, the resort provides a relaxing environment with its soothing and healing 43°C mineral water.
Today, visitors can enjoy a relaxing private bath after descending Li Mountain. For those interested in staying in the area, there are wonderful 3-star accommodations at the Springs.
