QSI International School of Suzhou, a non-profit institution that opened in August 2007 offering high quality education in English for students from three (3) years of age through middle school - thirteen (13) years of age. The school's educational philosophy includes a performance-based personalized approach to instruction leading to mastery learning. We believe 1) All students can succeed, 2) Success breeds success, and 3) It is the responsibility of the school to provide the conditions for success. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE of the school is to meet the needs of children with foreign passports in Suzhou who require this type of education with a view to continuing their education in their home countries with a minimum of adjustment problems. In addition to its scholastic goals, the school endeavors to provide its students with knowledge of China. THE CURRICULUM includes English (reading, grammar, composition, and spelling), Mathematics, Cultural Studies (history, geography), Science (physical, life, and earth), Art, Music, and Physical Education. The school seeks to provide students with an appreciation for the rich culture and history of China. Materials and equipment are up to date and of high quality. Class sizes are small. Native English speaking experienced teachers are employed. This curriculum ensures mastery of specific skills and knowledge involving both individual and group instruction. Intensive English is provided for students who need additional help with English. Mandarin is taught as a second language.
