The China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the General Administration of Press and Publication, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and is sponsored corporately by the Shenzhen Press Group, the Shenzhen Media Group, the Shenzhen Circulation (Group) Co. Ltd. and the Shenzhen International Cultural Industrial Fair Co. Ltd.
With "exhibition and exchange" as its core principles, the ICIF establishes an exchange platform for Chinese cultural products and projects, promotes the development of Chinese cultural industries and spreads knowledge of Chinese cultural products to the world.
The first ICIF was held in Shenzhen in May 2004 and laid the foundation for Chin' s only national-level international comprehensive cultural fair, where an integrated platform was built for culture, radio, film, TV, press and publishing products. The exhibition halls include one comprehensive hall; the China Cultural Industries Trade Hall and other seven other ancillary halls including the Digital Television and Animation Hall, the Gymnastic Industries Hall, the Creative Design Hall, the Press and Publication Hall 1 (New media, new technologies, new equipment and new materials for advertising), the Press and Publication Hall 2 (publications, audio and video products), the Literature/Painting and Calligraphy Hall and the Arts and Crafts Hall.
More than 1,600 enterprises participated in the last fair including 89 foreign exhibitors, where there were more than 20 various topical forums, with many well-known speakers and which received positive feedback from among commercial, intellectual and general audiences.
