Established in 1983 as the Shanghai History & Cultural Relics Showroom, the Shanghai History Museum displays historical records describing the fascinating development of this metropolis over the past century. Among its 30,000 ancient and contemporary relics are items such as Gu Embroidery, Ming Dynasty epics, The Golden Classics collected by Qi Bao Temple, and the ZhenYuan General Bronze Cannon left behind by the modern famous General Chen Huacheng.
