Located on the former site of the Shanghai Library, the Shanghai Art Museum has more than 4,000 works of both contemporary and classical fine art including calligraphies, paintings and sculptures. This gallery is reputed as having one of the best collections of Chinese modern art in the country. There's also a museum store, a café, and a rooftop restaurant.
