The Luhuitou Peninsula is the legendary home of the Li people, who were born from a young hunter and his bride. According to the myth, the hunter chased a deer up to the peninsula, cornering it. As he was about to shoot the animal, it transformed into a beautiful woman, with whom he instantly fell in love and married.
The Luhuitou Peninsula is home to one of the best beaches in Sanya. Luhuitou Hill rises nearly 300 meters above the sea below, covered in fragrant flowers and beautiful waterfalls, and is the site of the Shanmeng Pavilion (Unalterable Love) where a 39-foot tall statue of the young hunter and the deer looking back toward him is a prominent feature.
Getting There: Take taxi from Dadonghai to the area. Taxi Fare should be approximately RMB 10.
