It seems that in many up-and-coming bars in Beijing the appearance has been the number one priority when designing a venue. This is partly why Huxley’s is such a great contrast to some of these upper class bars in Beijing: it is mostly about atmosphere, cheap drinks and friendly people. It is also often very crowded, which proves the point that this is a popular place in the heart of the Gulou district.
