Peter's Tex-Mex Grill wins most of the Mexican food awards in Beijing's expat magazines. Besides Tex-Mex favorites, they also serve breakfast and American foods: the burgers and the caramel pecan pie and brownie pie are to die for, but come with an appetite, because the portions are large. The friendly, professional staff may not speak Spanish, but their English is close to perfect. Accepts international credit cards.
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Peter's Tex-Mex, with extraordinarily slow and rude service. After waiting 40 minutes for a glass of juice to arrive, I finally decided to just cut my losses and walk away. At least the Starbuck's nearby had a working air-conditioner. Since there is a staff-sharing arrangement between the St. Regis and Lido branches, I recommend to just avoid Pete's Tex-Mex at all costs.
