Splendid China is a major attraction located in Overseas Chinese Town; it is reputed for its scale replicas of China's historical buildings, wonderful scenery, and folk customs. The replicas models are positioned to their geographical original. Splendid China & Chinese Folk Culture Village exhibits many famous Chinese buildings and landmarks. The exhibits are embedded in beautiful garden environments.
Scenic Spot Area
The Scenic area of the park is comprised of major Chinese architectural works. Visitors will experience miniature Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses of Xi'an of Shaanxi province, the Forbidden City in Beijing, three sections of the Great Wall of China, and the Old Summer Palace. All the replicas are perfect copies with much attention paid to detail. For example, the Forbidden City replica includes pictures of Emperor Guangxu and his much-celebrated marriage. The Great Wall replica includes detailed color and bricks the size of matchboxes. All masterfully carved using the same construction materials as the original. The Old Summer Palace replica shows a recreation of the complete and original royal garden.
Other national treasures include: the Ancient Observatory of Beijing, the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang, and the Potala Palace in Lhasa. These wonderful structures have been replicated to scale and adorn the grounds of Splendid China.
Additionally, Splendid China has scaled down versions of Mt. Huangshan of Anhui Province, Li River and Guilin City in Guangxi Province, Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou province, Stone Forest of Yunnan and West Lake of Hangzhou. Visitors can experience sailing on a bamboo skiff along the Li River.
