Description

This is the oldest building in the city, dating to the Qing Dynasty, named Sheng Jin Ta (Rope and Gold Pagoda) after the legend that when the temple was being built, an iron box was found containing four bundles of golden ropes, 300 luminous Sarira stones and three ancient swords. It is said that the city will fall if the temple is ever destroyed.

The octagonal pagoda is topped with a cold-plated copper tripod, reached by a wooden staircase. On each of the seven floors are hand-carved eaves and cloisters.
