Dufu Cottage is located at Flower Washing Brook (huanhuaxi) on the western outskirts of Chengdu. More than 1200 years ago, this little thatched hut was the hideaway of poet and social commentator Du Fu, who wrote nearly 240 poems while living there. The cottage itself rotted away years ago, but the place was renovated during the Ming and Qing dynasties and is now an ample park.
The north gate of Dufu Cottage used to be home to a large antique market, but the market has since been moved and renamed as "Sanguo Curio City"
