Description

Also called St. Joseph's, this church was designed by Italian missionary Xu Zuobin, and built in 1876, also in the Roman-Basilican style. It cost 120,000 francs fortune to construct; during that time, it was a costly church. The arch- bishop of Hankou keeps his offices in the forecourt of St. Joseph's. The church's large grounds and five altars allow it to accommodate more than 2000 people at a time.
