The Tianjin Museum of Science and Technology opened to the public on New Year's Day in 1995. The specially designed architecture resembles a bridge, to signify the passing of time, while a 30-meter spherical structure rests on the bridge giving the impression of the rising sun. The structure houses a multi-functional planetarium, an auditorium and other educational facilities.
