Shijiazhuang Railway Institute was founded in 1950 under the name Railway Guard Engineering Institute. At the time of its founding, the institute was one of the premiere army and civilian engineer training institutions in China. Today, the Railway Institute is a prestigious university of applied engineering science, and certified to present degrees in not only engineering, but the creative sciences, Economy, Management, Law and Education.
