The Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce and the Shenzhen Bureau of Trade and Industry established the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export (SCCIE) on December 16, 2003 to become a comprehensive chamber of commerce for all sectors in order to promote reform and innovation of the foreign trade system and create a favorable environment for an export-oriented economy.
Main Functions of the SCCIE:
1. To provide services for Shenzhen's import and export enterprises.
2. To establish a platform for communication between enterprises, government and consumers.
3. To represent the interests of the import and export industry by lobbying the government to improve the business environment.
4. To establish channels for reporting problems to the government in order to solve problems experienced by member enterprises.
