This one is a little way out of town, but it's definitely worth a look if you are planning a trip out to Songjiang District. Sheshan Tang was built by the Jesuits in 1866 and is the largest Christian ecclesiastical building in Asia. The stunning red brick building on She Mountain has a bell tower 125 feet tall, and is a popular place of worship for local and foreign Catholics. Get to the top of Sheshan either on foot, or by cable car.
Hi,
I am from Hong Kong, and am planning to visit Shanghai in October. I really, really hope to visit this beautiful She Shan's Basilica . As I am Catholic, I really hope to enter the church and the attend Mass there. May I know if i can enter there by myself? Or do i need to call in advanced? And how do i go there from downtown Shanghai (I will be staying in the Bund area) Thank you!!
