Fuzhou Railway Station is situated at the northern end of Hualin Lu. The station services a multitude of cities with direct services to Beijing (19.5 hrs), Shanghai (16.5 hrs), Nanjing (20hrs), Nanchang (10 hrs), Guiyang (28 hrs), Changsha (17.5 hrs), Hefei (18.5 hrs), Chongqing (39 hrs), Shenzhen (18 hrs) to name but a few. From these cities, the whole of China can be reached by rail. Tickets are released for sale 4 days in advance, though the tickets for the Z60 Fuzhou - Beijing fast train can be bought 10 days earlier.
There is a Fuzhou-Xiamen line under construction which will go into service in 2009. This will slash the journey time between Fuzhou and Xiamen to just one hour.
