Dalian Jinbu Theater is one of two cinemas found on Friendship Square. Originally opened in 1931, the theater has showcased some of Dalian's most famous performances. In 1999, the theater was completely renovated and upgraded for movie viewing in the modern era. The theater houses one large main screening hall and five smaller screening halls. The main hall includes a balcony and is equipped with the latest in Dolby surround-sound. Additionally, the theater includes a cafe and small bookstore. Ticket prices range from 50 RMB to 55 RMB but they have discount prices of 25 RMB for matinee screenings.
