Situated next to the scenic, Honglingjin Park for in the center of Beijing since 1995, Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) centres its education philosophy towards truly international education, providing a platform for students to become international citizens of the future.
YCIS Beijing is owned and guided by Educators. The founder of the school was an early childhood education (Kindergarten) teacher when the school opened in 1932. The current owner Dr. Betty Chan, daughter of the YCIS Founder, has an honorary doctorate in education and it is education that drives every aspect of the school.
YCIS Beijing is registered with The Ministry of Education as a school for foreign nationals. The school as part of this license can only enrol students that meet these requirements.
YCIS Beijing follows the National Curriculum for England (NCE) and integrates an extensive Chinese language and culture programme in order to ensure students become bilingual at an early age. In addition, YCIS Beijing has unique co-teaching model within the Kindergarten and Primary year groups, combining one Western and one Chinese teacher in each classroom.
Within the Secondary school, YCIS Beijing follows the IGCSE and IB courses and maintains a 100% pass rate within these internationally recognised courses, including a 100% college acceptance rate to prestigious universities such as Princeton, University College London (UCL), University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. YCIS is also the only International School in China to receive the ‘Cambridge Award for Excellence in Education’.
