This is a refreshing change to the areas wide selection of mainstream bars all resembling each other. The Brick is run by two Americans who are friendly and easy to talk to, even when it gets busy. The bar describes itself being “what it is, is what it is,” which means you won’t get any fake alcohol or pretentious prices here. The music tries to stay clear from the mainstream tunes that you hear too often in Beijing nightlife and instead plays classics such as old indie rock on the background. Great place with decent prices where you can also order burritos or chicken wings from the snack menu.
